Travel Health & Medicine

Travel protection requires a survey of specific issues in each instance of travel. This is completed by both physicians and others such as travel agents.

Important issues related to travel include:

  • Skin protection against insects
  • Routine immunization updates such at Tetanus (Tdp).
  • Hepatitis A Vaccine (or occasionally Hepatitis B).
  • Malaria prevention in appropriate countries (oral medicine).
  • Typhoid prevention in underdevelopED areas (oral or vaccine).
  • Travelers diarrhea prevention or treatment.
  • Yellow fever vaccination when needed.
  • Other specific requirements to selected countries.

We are happy to provide this service. We need 2 weeks for vaccinations to be fully protective, therefore visits to the office should be scheduled one month in advance of your scheduled travel date whenever possible.

Current information for any specific country is obtained by physicians and others (travel agents and travel clinics) from CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) sources that are continuously updated.

Current Travel Health warnings can be found on the Traveler's Health page of the CDC website.
